A twitchy roadside entity with a rusted stop sign and a lantern-bright stare, Glitchwick appears deep within the tangled roads of the Ponder Woods whenever travelers are about to make a very bad choice.
No one remembers building the crooked road where Glitchwick wanders. Some say the path grows only at night, curling through the forest like a forgotten thought. Others swear the little sentinel simply appears where danger is nearest—standing motionless beneath tangled branches, glowing fingers crackling with strange energy.
Glitchwick rarely speaks in full sentences. Instead, he mutters warnings, unfinished directions, and fragments of conversations that haven’t happened yet. Wagons break down around him. Compass needles spin. Maps quietly redraw themselves by morning.
Despite his unsettling presence, many believe Glitchwick is trying to help. Travelers who ignore him often vanish into the deeper woods, where roads loop endlessly and moonlight never changes position. Those who listen usually find their way home… though sometimes years later than expected.
Children leave lanterns beside lonely crossroads in hopes the strange little guardian will guide lost souls safely through the dark.
